Morris Hyman
You find out what someone needs and you give it.
Morris Hyman

We take this to heart and share his legacy in everything we do.

Born and raised in a small town in Mississippi, Morris always dreamed of helping the community. When he grew older he chose to serve his country and enlisted in the army. After many years of service, Morris retired and received both a Purple Heart and a Silver Star. When he came back from serving, his desire to help others never faltered. This led him to further his education at Stanford Law which led him to begin his law practice in the Washington Township portion of Alameda County—the area now covered by the Tri-City: Fremont, Newark, and Union City.

While working in the Tri-City, Morris was inspired by his environment and the people he served. He knew it was his calling to support the Fremont community and in 1964 he opened Fremont Bank. As a community bank, Fremont Bank became the bank for the people. Fremont Bank continued to grow and Morris’ vision grew. He was invested in serving more communities and his reach can be seen across the Bay Area. Even today, Morris’ legacy continues to grow.
